West Vancouver Memorial Library Cards - Eligibility for West Vancouver Residents

A library card is free to all residents of West Vancouver. Photo ID and proof of current address is required to register. Children under 14 require their parent's signature.

Residents of other areas in the Lower Mainland and Surrounding Area

Library cards are also free to all residents of Bowen Island, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Fraser Valley, Gibsons, New Westminster, North Vancouver City, North Vancouver District, Pemberton, Port Moody, Richmond, Sechelt, Squamish, Surrey, Vancouver and Whistler. These libraries comprise "InterLINK".

If you live within the InterLINK system, you can register for a library card at any InterLINK Library by presenting appropriate identification (usually photo ID with current address). You may register using your West Vancouver card or obtain a separate card from that library.

If you live in the GVRD but are not served by InterLINK (e.g, Lions Bay), annual membership fees are $50.00 for adults; $25.00 for students.

As a card holder you are responsible for reporting to us change of address, telephone number or email address.

We update our records automatically every 5 years. Please visit the Registration Desk if you have not used your Library card in a long time or if your card has expired ("Please see a Librarian" is the message you will receive when using your card if it has expired.)

To prevent unauthorized use of your library card, please report its loss immediately; you are responsible for all material borrowed on your card. The charge for replacing a lost card is $3.00.

  Let Us Remind You!

Give us your email address and we'll remind you when your library materials are due - 3 days in advance! We'll also let you know when your requests are ready for pick-up. Log in to Your Account and click "Modify Email" to subscribe.

  Internet Access Card

If you would like to use our Internet Stations but are not eligible for a West Vancouver Memorial Library card, you can obtain an Internet Access card at the Registration Desk.

The Internet Access card allows the holder to use the Library's public Internet stations; it does not include borrowing or remote database privileges. To register, one piece of personal ID should be shown (address ID is not essential.) The card expires one year after the date of registration. A parent's signature on the application is required for anyone under 14 years of age. Internet Access cards from other libraries can also be registered here. There is no charge for Internet Access cards.
