  Friends of the Library

  Who are we?

Ours is a volunteer group of 170 devoted people – some actively involved, others quietly supportive – who care deeply about our West Vancouver Memorial Library and the enrichment it continues to offer to our community.

If you feel as we do, and would like to become a 'Friend', the door is open, and the welcome mat is out.

  What do we do?

  A partial rundown:

We conduct a semi-annual sale of books and other materials. The resulting proceeds enable us to help the Library acquire its special needs. (By the way, we also keep the Book Cart in the foyer well-stocked with great bargains!)

We provide hospitality for Library official and social events, author visits and Concert Series. We sponsor the annual North Shore Writers' Festival, the Summer Reading Club, and we help out when the Library Foundation holds its annual benefit.

We participate in the Library's home book delivery services.

We donate the bouquets that add a welcoming touch to the Circulation desk.

  Remembrance Day

We also sponsor, organize and host a Remembrance Day reception in the Library each November 11. Remembrance Day Songbook
