Read-to-Me Club
The Read-to-Me Club allows preschoolers to keep a record of the books they have shared in a special journal. Report your stories starting June 28.

Summer Reading Club (Beginning Readers - Grade 7)
Members will receive a package which includes a "Reading Rocks!" Reading Record. Beginning June 28, report your readings, watch for special weekly programs and prizes. A great way to spend your holidays! Certificates and medals will be awarded in September.

Raptor Rescue with O.W.L. Rehabilitation Society
Get to actually meet and learn about the birds of prey which live in the lower mainland.

Ultimate Rock Band II
Create rock bands, dress up like rock stars and rock out to your favourite Wii Rock Band tunes. Bring your friends for a fun afternoon of battle of the bands.

Dance Workshop with MaObong Oku (Grades 1-7)
Renowned dancer, percussionist and singer, MaObong Oku invites you to learn the dances and culture from South Eastern Nigeria through a fun interactive workshop. This workshop will include dancing, singing and learning about cultural artifacts. Come and express yourself to the rhythms and music of West Africa!

  KODALY ORFF MUSIC FOR CHILDREN (SAMPLER SESSIONS)  
   
  Introduce your child to the joy of making music through song, expressive movement, dance and musical instruments. Classes taught by Capilano University Community Music School instructors.

Fall Session (Ages 4-5)
    Saturdays, October 11 - November 6 (No class October 9)
    1:30pm
Registration begins Monday, August 9

A generous bequest allows the Library to offer sample sessions of Kodaly Orff music classes. We partner with Capilano University Music School in order to offer these classes. The Library's Welsh Music Fund pays Capilano College instructors to conduct classes in the Library. The Fund has also been used to purchase a set of instruments. Classes are the same as those offered at various locations on the North Shore.

Please note:
    -Classes are free, but registration is required.
    -This class is a one-time opportunity and is only open to children who have not participated in a Kodaly-Orff program before.
    -Children will be expected to participate without adults in attendance.
    -Consistent attendance is expected.
